1st ever Inter-Club Squash Challenge Night to be hosted at the BSRA

The Bermuda Squash Racquets Association will be hosting Bermuda’s first ever inter-club team squash night on Thursday June 4th.
Representatives from all the squash clubs met recently to try and lay the framework for competitive league structure in Bermuda to begin later this year. This double match night will be the first of hopefully many squash team nights in the future.
Teams will consist of 7 players (4 men/3 women) and will play off against each other under World Squash Federation rules of PAR Scoring, best of 5 games. The night will feature some of the best squash players in Bermuda including Nick Kyme, Denise Sommers, Colin Whitney and a host of others.
Admission is FREE

Kyme & Sommers are World Distributor Champs 2009

The finals of the 2009 World Distributors Bermuda Tire Charity Suqash Tournament were completed on Sunday with Nick Kyme taking the mens title beating Patrick Foster 3-1 and Denise Sommers beating Liz Martin in the ladies final.

The draws for the 2009 World Distributors Bermuda Tire Charity Squash Tournament are now available to viewed on the World Distributors Bermuda Tire Tournament page
70 players will compete over the coming weekend for the Men’s and Womens titles won last year by Nick Kyme and Liz Martin. The event also features 3 divisional events as well as lots of feed-in consolation events to keep all players busy for most of the weekend…
Saturday night will see the official World Distributors Charity Party hosted at the BSRA. All competitors recieve complimentary tickets, extra tickets are available at $35 allowing you entry to the party which will have a live DJ, FREE (yes FREE!) Bar and food!!
All proceeds of the weekend go to the Bermuda Diabetes Association.

A squad of 11 players from the BSRA will take on New York club The Printing House in New York on June 19-21st.
The squad comprising Denise Kyme, Liz Martin, Suzy Stones, Padraic Browne, Bill Dickinson, Peter Barrett, Christian Ince, Joe Budzynski, Greg Fitzgerald, Tony Muldoon, Patrick Foster and Team Manager, Dave Elliott will look to repeat the win we had against them when they came to Bermuda in November 2008.

The 2009 World Distributors Bermuda Tire Charity Squash Tournament is open for entries..
The 2009 event will feature the same draw format open to all players of all standards with all funds raised going to the Bermuda Diabetes Association.

This year the BSRA will behosting the World Distributors Charity Party on the Saturday night of the tournament. Your entry fee of $50 gets you 2 matches, a tournament t-shirt and access to the party which will have a live DJ, FREE FOOD and FREE BAR!! Not bad for $50! Extra party tickets for people not in the tournament will be available at $35 from the BSRA.

$14K Raised for St Baldricks Day!!

The BSRA Team of (Left to right) Dave Turner, Dave Elliott & Patrick Foster raised an amazing $14′000 (with donations still coming in!!) for the St Baldricks Foundation in support of kids with cancer.

If you are thinking the same as most people… “Why does Patrick still have a beard?”…..With a couple of people doubling donations… a whip round on the night… and a corporate donation, it turns out that to keep my beard on for one week after shaving my head we raised an extra $1300!!

This Friday 20th March at BAA the BSRA Team of Patrick Foster, Dave Elliott & Dave Turner will be shaving their heads in support of kids with cancer through raising $10′000 for the St Baldricks Foundation. Our shave time is approx 6.30pm.
